Bomarknad

Last Friday and Saturday I went to Varberg (a city 1h from Gothenburg) to attend Bomarknad, a house-related fair. I went there basically to help my friend Paola set up and advertise her stand. Paola is an interior designer, and she not only decorates, but actually designs stuff, like furniture, carpets, etc. Her stand was really beautiful. She recreated the room for washing clothes, with colorful wallpaper, nice white furniture which she created herself, a nice bright orange carpet in the middle, a little corner for the kids to play while mom (or dad) is washing the clothes... She was nice enough to even use some of my paintings to decorate part of the walls. So I was very happy about it (^^  My favourite piece was a white
closet with an little orange sofa and some shelves. It was just gorgeous!

El viernes y sábado pasados fui a Varberg, una ciudad a una hora de Gotemburgo) con motivo del Bomarknad (una feria sobre cosas relacionadas con el hogar). En verdad iba para ayudar y promocionar el stand de mi amiga Paola. Paola es uns disennadora de interiores, y no se limita a decorar, sino que además disenna cosas, como muebles, alfombras, entre otras cosas... El espacio que presentó en la feria era un cuarto para lavar la ropa. Quedó lindísimo, con papel de color multicolor, una alfombra de color naranja brillante, y hasta un rinconcito para que los ninnos jueguen mientras los padres lavan la ropa. Incluso usó algunas de mis pinturas para adornar una parte de las paredes, lo cual me hizo muy feliz (^^ La pieza que más me gustó de su stand fue un mueble blanco precioso que tenía un sofá pequenno muy lindo acogedor y algunas repisas donde poner adornos/libros. Todo una belleza!

So this is what I did in my working time the other day :)  Not my teaching job, hello! But another job in which I call companies in Spain for a Marketing research. In the last pic, you can see something written on the paper. It´s my attempt to write down the lyrics of a great sweet song that was playing while I was trying to reach the client. If any of you have an idea of what this song is, pleaseeeee let me know! :) The words and phrases I remember from it are: Wake up; rainbow; we are meant to be together

el otro día dediqué parte de mi horario laboral a hacer esto :) No mi trabajo como profesora, hello, sino otro en el que llamo a compannías en Espanna para un estudio de Marketing. En la última foto pueden ver algo escrito en el paper. Es que mientras esperaba a que me comunicaran con un cliente, ponían una canción súper linda y dulce, y eso fue lo que alcancé a captar: Wake up; rainbow; we are meant to be together... Si alguien conoce esta canción, please, dime cómo se llama! Graciasss :)

More painting / Más pinturas

Hmm, today I painted two more girls. I see a huge difference between them and the previous ones, don´t you? I have definitely tried to explore a bit, and I´m really loving the last girl!

Up till now I have only worked with watercolor. Watercolor is relatively easy to use, since by adding water, or by letting the paint dry and paint on top of it, you can fix many mistakes. BUT, I dont really like the final result. I´m dreaming of something more shiny and colorful!

Which one is your favourite? :)

Hoy pinté dos chicas más, y noto una GRAN diferencia entre estas y las anteriores! No les parece? Lo cierto es que he tratado de explorar un poco, y estoy literalmente enamorada de la última pintura.

Por el momento, solo pinto con acuarela, ya que es relativamente fácil de usar: agregando agua, o dejando que la pintura se seque y pintando sobre lo que has hecho antes, se pueden corregir muchos errores. Lo malo es que NO me gusta el resultado final. Quiero algo más brillante y colorido!

My girls / Mis chicas

I have always wanted to paint. ALWAYS. And already in China I started painting these girls... I left them there though, and once in Sweden I got myself some watercolor paint and paper and started doing them again. What do you think?

Siempre he querido pintar. SIEMPRE. Estando en China empecé a pintar estas caritas, pero aquellas pinturas se quedaron en Beijing y, una vez en Suecia, conseguí acuarela y papel correspondiente y retomé de nuevo la pintura. Qué les parece?
